About the Artist
Sandra Davis is a Printmaker specializing in aqueous media monotypes printed
on handmade bark paper. An award winning artist and teacher, she is a
graduate of Edinboro University with a degree in Art Education and Bloomsburg
University with a Master's degree in Printmaking. She has taught for over 25
years in the public schools of Pennsylvania.
Sandra's work includes original hand-pulled lithographs, aqueous media
monotypes, etchings, drawings, and mixed media, encompassing a series of
personal and visual metaphors portraying classical and garden themes. These
themes are a creative autobiography of her life experience. Her current work
is a series of aqueous media monotypes printed on handmade American,
Nepalese, and Thai papers using Plexiglas plates. The natural pigments and
fibers of the bark paper and imported Thai and Nepalese papers, infused with
leaves, petals and grasses, form the color and soul of these hand-pulled
original prints. All prints on handmade papers are one of a kind.
